CTA/CTAH copper-silver alloy contact wire is a key current-conducting component of the electrified railway overhead contact system; its performance directly affects pantograph current collection quality and power supply reliability. Terms and definitions: the contact wire runs above the rails, remains in contact with the pantograph strip and conducts current, with left-right symmetric suspension grooves in the upper cross-section. Copper-silver alloy contact wire adds silver to pure copper, further raising tensile strength and wear resistance while keeping high conductivity, better suited to the high-tension, high-collection duty of high-speed and heavy-haul lines.

Application: conductor for overhead contact systems of electrified railways, suitable for conventional, speed-raised and high-speed railway contact suspensions, and can be combined with messenger wires, droppers and various clamps into a complete contact suspension.

Available models: CTA85, CTA110, CTA120, CTA150; CTAH85, CTAH110, CTAH120, CTAH150, selectable by line tension and current collection requirements.

Standard: GB/T 12971.1-2023, Contact wires for electric traction — Part 1: Copper and copper alloy contact wires; the 120/150 sizes also meet the railway requirement of TB/T 2809-2026, Copper alloy contact wires for electrification railway OCS.

With high conductivity and high wear resistance, they suit overhead contact systems of electrified railways, especially contact suspensions of high-speed and heavy-haul lines.

Key Features

  • Wear-resistant and fatigue-resistant with a long service life
  • Supplied to match the standard tension system of TB/T 2809-2026
  • Multiple alloy systems cover different speed and tension classes
  • Balances high conductivity with high strength

Compliance & Quality Control

The product complies with the TB/T 2809-2026, Copper alloy contact wires for electrification railway OCS series of standards; tensile strength and elongation meet the standards, and wire fatigue performance and straightness meet pantograph current collection requirements. Conductivity is at least 97% IACS (copper-silver alloy), and ampacity satisfies traction power supply calculations. The company holds CRCC railway product certification and ISO9001 quality management system certification; every reel (batch) is delivered only after passing factory inspection.

Operating Conditions & Typical Applications

Suitable for high-speed, conventional-speed and urban rail OCS, enduring long-term current loading, vibration and atmospheric corrosion. Typical applications include high-speed railways, conventional and heavy-haul railways, urban rail transit and coastal corrosive environments.

Selection & Service

The company provides end-to-end service from selection calculations and drawing confirmation to volume supply and on-site technical guidance. Products are controlled under CRCC certification and the ISO9001 quality management system; standard items are stocked and volume orders are delivered on contractual schedules.
