CTCZ/CTCZM copper-chromium-zirconium alloy contact wire is a new alloy type added by TB/T 2809-2026, Copper alloy contact wires for electrification railway OCS. Chromium and zirconium are introduced into the copper matrix, gaining higher tensile strength and heat resistance through solid-solution strengthening and aging precipitation, making it the upgraded selection for large-tension contact suspensions of high-speed railways. The new standard grades the alloy by strength: the low class CTCZ (grade letter omitted) and the medium class CTCZM (suffix M), with sizes consolidated to 120mm2 and 150mm2.

Application: conductor for overhead contact systems of electrified railways, suitable for high-speed and heavy-haul railway contact suspensions, especially high-tension, high-wear and high-temperature-rise duty; can be combined with messenger wires, droppers and various clamps into a complete contact suspension.

Available models: CTCZ120, CTCZ150; CTCZM120, CTCZM150, selectable by line tension class and current collection requirements.

Standard: TB/T 2809-2026, Copper alloy contact wires for electrification railway OCS (effective 2026-9-1); section geometry is identical to same-size copper alloy contact wires.

Henan Chuangwit Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. supplies the full range of OCS conductors and associated fittings, supports volume procurement and customized supply, and provides selection consulting and end-to-end technical support for railway construction organizations. Hotline: 0375-6051688.

Product Overview

CTCZ CTCZM copper-chromium-zirconium alloy contact wires are the upgraded contact wire line of Henan Chuangwit Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. for the high-speed railway market. Through chromium-zirconium precipitation strengthening, the alloy keeps conductivity of up to about 90% IACS while markedly raising strength and softening temperature; the medium class CTCZM150 offers tensile strength of at least 560MPa and ultimate tensile force of at least 82.87kN, the highest strength grade among current contact wire types.

Key Features

  • Strength-class selection: the low class CTCZ balances conductivity and strength, the medium class CTCZM targets large-tension duty
  • Good heat resistance with softening resistance superior to conventional copper alloys, adapting to high-temperature-rise sections of dense traffic
  • Section geometry identical to same-size copper alloy contact wires; clamps and erection tooling are common
  • Supplied to match the recommended test tension of TB/T 2809-2026

Compliance & Quality Control

The product complies with TB/T 2809-2026, Copper alloy contact wires for electrification railway OCS; chemical composition, tensile strength, conductivity, unit mass and fatigue performance are inspected to the standard. The company holds ISO9001 quality management system certification; every reel (batch) is delivered only after passing factory inspection.

Operating Conditions & Typical Applications

Suited to large-tension contact suspensions of high-speed railways, high-temperature-rise sections of heavy-haul lines and high-current mainlines with dense traffic. Typical applications include mainline contact suspensions of high-speed railways, reinforced sections of heavy-haul railways and high-current sections of terminal yards.

Selection & Service

The company provides end-to-end service from selection calculations and drawing confirmation to volume supply and on-site technical guidance. Products are controlled under the ISO9001 quality management system, and volume orders are delivered on contractual schedules.
