JTCZ copper-chromium-zirconium alloy stranded wire is a new type added by TB/T 3111.1-2026, Stranded conductors for overhead contact system of electrification railway — Part 1: Copper and copper alloy stranded conductors (Cr 0.20%~1.00%, Zr 0.02%~0.20%), with a composition system introduced in step with the contact wire standard. Its technical positioning is single-wire tensile strength of at least 520MPa and conductivity of at least 87% IACS: about one tenth lower in strength than the incumbent JTMH copper-magnesium stranded wire (620MPa, 75% IACS) with conductivity 12 percentage points higher. Messenger wires have large cross-sections and long spans, so DC loss and current-carrying margin are sensitive items in power supply calculations; by trading strength for conductivity, JTCZ opens new selection space for high-speed railway messenger wires.

Application: messenger wire for contact suspensions of electrified railways, also usable as feeder wire or current-carrying dropper wire; forms the complete catenary suspension with contact wires, droppers and various clamps.

Available models: JTCZ120 (1×37/2.03), JTCZ150 (1×37/2.25).

Standard: TB/T 3111.1-2026, Stranded conductors for overhead contact system of electrification railway — Part 1: Copper and copper alloy stranded conductors (effective 2026-9-1).

Product Overview

JTCZ copper-chromium-zirconium alloy stranded wire is the upgraded messenger wire line of Henan Chuangwit Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. for the high-speed railway market. Its composition system is of the same origin as the CTCZ/CTCZM copper-chromium-zirconium alloy contact wires and is designed to be used together, unifying the alloy system of contact wire and messenger wire in the catenary suspension with good electrical and mechanical matching.

Key Features

  • Conductivity at least 87% IACS, 12 percentage points higher than JTMH copper-magnesium stranded wire, reducing messenger wire DC loss
  • Ultimate tensile force of at least 59.16kN for JTCZ120 and at least 72.68kN for JTCZ150, meeting large-tension high-speed railway suspensions
  • Good heat resistance for high-temperature-rise duty of dense traffic
  • Composition system matched with CTCZ contact wires for a unified suspension alloy system

Compliance & Quality Control

The product complies with TB/T 3111.1-2026, Stranded conductors for overhead contact system of electrification railway — Part 1: Copper and copper alloy stranded conductors; stranding construction, single-wire tensile strength, ultimate tensile force and conductivity are inspected to the standard. The company holds ISO9001 quality management system certification; every batch is delivered only after passing factory inspection.

Operating Conditions & Typical Applications

Mainly used as the messenger wire of fully compensated catenary suspensions in high-speed railways, also suited to high-current feeder lines and dense-traffic sections. When combined with CTCZ/CTCZM copper-chromium-zirconium alloy contact wires into a catenary suspension, the current-carrying margin and DC loss figures in power supply calculations are further improved.

Selection & Service

The company provides end-to-end service from selection calculations and drawing confirmation to volume supply and on-site technical guidance. Products are controlled under the ISO9001 quality management system, and volume orders are delivered on contractual schedules. For technical support and commercial inquiries, please call 0375-6051688.
