The 4-1 standard locator is the registration member of a non-limit-type positioning device: a tube (or channel) member with a bent head, one end holding the contact wire through the registration clamp and the other hinged through its hook to the registration bracket. Unlike the limit type, no stop face is provided — the locator simply holds the stagger while swinging freely with the wire's dynamic movement.
The structure is light, keeping the concentrated mass at the registration point small, and the hinge works freely without sticking. It suits straight sections and general-curve registration points on conventional and mixed-traffic lines.
