Head-Span Positioning Device

Complete head-span positioning set rated 3.0 kN working / ≥9.0 kN breaking, for multi-track station spans.

Head-Span Positioning Device

Specifications

ModelHead-span positioning set
StandardTB/T 2075 series, Fittings for overhead contact system of electrified railway
Tensile Failure LoadWorking 3.0 kN · Tensile ≥4.5 kN · Compressive ≥3.0 kN · Breaking ≥9.0 kN
MaterialsAluminum alloy locators / positioning tubes, copper alloy clamps
InstallationSuspended at head-span registration points, transferring wire load to the span structure

The head-span positioning device registers the contact wire in station head-span (flexible cross-span) structures, where the wire hangs from registration ropes across the span instead of from a rigid cantilever. It passes the wire's horizontal load into the span structure and keeps the pantograph's current collection stable through the station.

Load Ratings

  • Working load: 3.0 kN
  • Tensile withstand load: ≥4.5 kN
  • Compressive withstand load: ≥3.0 kN
  • Maximum breaking load: ≥9.0 kN

The product is manufactured under CRCC railway product certification and an ISO 9001 quality management system, with incoming material inspection, in-process control on critical operations and batch-by-batch final inspection before delivery. The set assembles from the head-span fittings family — registration rope clamps, eyes and pulleys — so one parts vocabulary covers the whole span.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a head-span positioning device?

The registration set used in station head-span structures: instead of a rigid cantilever, the wire is positioned by ropes and fittings suspended from the span, with this set carrying the wire's horizontal load.

What is it rated for?

Working load 3.0 kN, tensile withstand at least 4.5 kN, compressive withstand at least 3.0 kN and maximum breaking load at least 9.0 kN.

When is a head-span preferred over cantilevers?

Wide multi-track station areas where masts between every track are impractical — one span carries many tracks' registrations from two masts.

Which fittings complete the span?

Cross catenary clamps (18-1/18-2), suspension pulleys (18-3) and the registration rope fittings — all standard TB/T 2075.18 parts from the same range.

Performance

Operating Conditions

Outdoor service at OCS registration points on mainline, high-speed and station structures, subject to suspension, wind, ice and dynamic pantograph loads as defined by the OCS design.

Mechanical Performance

Rated 3.0 kN working with ≥9.0 kN breaking reserve; rope-based registration follows span movements compliantly.

Applications

Multi-Track Stations

Registration where cantilevers cannot reach.

Wide Track Groups

One span serves many tracks.

Complete Set

Rope clamps, eyes and pulleys as one kit.

Outdoor Exposure

Rated for combined wind and ice cases.
